Many charities in the Harrogate area are now working with volunteer mentors who provide help and support to new volunteers. This can include volunteers who lack confidence or need a bit of extra help to learn new tasks.
This informal session will provide an introduction to volunteer mentoring whether you are an individual interested in becoming a volunteer mentor or a Volunteer Manager looking to recruit volunteer mentors.
During the session we will look at some of the barriers which new volunteers face. How to help new volunteers through the initial stages of applying for a volunteer role and getting started as a volunteer.
Refreshments will available during the session
If you are interested but unable to attend on this date please contact Sue Williams in the Harrogate & Ripon Volunteer Centre for more information about the next course. Telephone 01423 509004 or email firstname.lastname@example.org
Please note attending this session is not a commitment to become a mentor for the Volunteer Centre. This is an opportunity to find out more about the role and whether you feel it is suitable for you.
