These sessions are for you, if you ......
- like the idea of volunteering but aren't quite sure where to start, what it involves, or even what sort of volunteering you want to do
- have been through a challenging period in your life, and think that volunteering may be a way to move on
- are feeling socially anxious and would like some extra support to help you get involved with volunteering
The session is from 10am to 12.30pm and will be facilitated by Carolyn Barber from the Good Mental Health Cooperative. Thanks to funding from Awards for All (Big Lottery), we are hosting a series of Introduction to Volunteering Meet-Ups so as to match up new volunteers to local community projects in our network.
Examples of volunteering opportunities are working in a community garden, helping out with singing or music or other support groups for people experiencing social isolation or poor mental health, or getting involved with our Human Library project.
There's no commitment to get involved - just come along to find out more and have a chat about your interests. The Meet-Ups are on the first Tuesday of every month until the end of the year from 10am to 12.30pm:
Tuesday 6 September
Tuesday 4 October
Tuesday 1 November
Tuesday 6 December
