About this event

Have you ever been curious about trying watercolour painting but felt unsure about where to start, or perhaps tried it and found it doesn’t behave quite like you expected?  In this one-day crash course artist Shelley Morrow will introduce the medium, explaining the tools you need and guiding you through its core techniques. The day is suitable for all abilities, especially those who’ve never tried watercolour before and want to see what it can do. Shelley will be on hand throughout the day with advice and guidance, providing plenty of one-to-one support.

What to Expect

We will start off looking at the materials you need to get started, followed by a series of exercises and demonstrations to help you to get to grips with watercolour.

What to Bring

All materials are included with this workshop, including paints, brushes and paper. You may wish to bring a sketchbook for taking notes and a plastic folder for taking home your drawings.

Getting to the studio

You may arrive at 9:45am onwards. Approach New England House from the New England Street side of the building and walk up to the locked blue double doors next to the sign for the ‘Building Manager’s Office’. Wait to be let in or call the number on the door for entry - the studio is on level 5, Unit 1 South, just knock and walk in. There is parking at London Road car park, Elder Place & Trafalgar St car parks; Brighton station is a 5 minute walk from the studio.
