Event description
This workshop is an introduction to the ancient and creative art of feltmaking for those with little or no experience.

About this Event

Feltmaking is an ancient craft that uses sheep's wool to produce a fabric. Water and soap are added to wool fibres which are then rubbed together to mat and shrink. You can create beautiful textured pieces of art with stunning effects.

This workshop is an introduction to wet feltmaking for those with little or no experience. We will cover the basic techniques of creating a flat piece of felt using merino fleece and also experiment with of gorgeous natural raw fibres such as silk, and linen. We will also learn how to incorporate silk fabrics to create 'nuno felt' and use pre-felt to create striking designs.

The workshop will take place in my studio on my family's farm in Littleworth - full directions will be sent once your place is confirmed.

£12.50 per person includes all materials. Ticket price also includes tea and biscuits!

Spaces are limited - pre-booked places only, please book via the ticket link.

Unwind Arts and Crafts are workshops that are a creative bubble bath for your soul. They offer the chance to slow down, catch you breath and enjoy some time to yourself to have fun, relax and be creative.

Unwind is run by me, Lindsay, both in my own studio on a farm in Littleworth and I also travel to lead private workshops for charities, community groups and private parties.

I have been selling and exhibiting my own work and teaching textile workshops for adults and children for the last 8 years.

I am passionate about encouraging other's creativity, and about the potential role for art and craft in our mental wellbeing. Unwind aims to bring these together with fun, inspiring, creative workshops that focus on enjoying the process just as much, if not more, than the finished product. I hope they can be a harbour from the storm of our busy lives and minds. They are also a welcoming and accepting space for those struggling with depression and anxiety.

If you are interested in attending any of my workshops or how I could work with your group please do get in touch - I look forward to hearing from you
