Gloucestershire Wildfowling and Conservation Association (GWCA) and BASC Southwest are offering 6 BASC members the chance to have an exclusive three-day wildfowling experience.
The format of the programme is designed to give you the knowledge and confidence to try Wildfowling while under the expert tuition of an experienced GWCA club member.

Day 1 – GWCA Associates day
Location: Poulton Court, Gloucestershire
Date: 9/08/25 - 10am-3pm
The day will start with a tour of the conservation projects the club are involved followed by a practice session with clay targets and the opportunity to pattern plate your gun. The day will be made up of a number of presentations on what is required to take part in wildfowling. Including, equipment needed, quarry identification and the dangers and precautions to take while out on the marsh. This will be a very relaxed day giving you an overview of what wildfowling encompasses being both fun and informative. The day will have a number of experienced club members to hand to learn from throughout the day.

Day 2 – Wildfowl Identification Day
Location: WWT Slimbridge
Date/time: 15/11/25 – 10am-2pm
Skilled members of the GWCA identification programme will talk you through the various species, look at ways to identify key species and guide you through the many species of birds we may encounter while out in the field.
(Tickets for the visit are included in the total cost, but lunch for the day will be required either purchased on the day in the on site café or brought on the day).
Day 3 – Evening Duck Flight
Location: TBC
Date: 18/01/26
Opportunity to have an evening duck flight, putting all the skills developed over the two previous days into action. Attendee’s will be accompanied by an experienced GWCA member.

Cost: £85 per BASC member
Frequently asked questions
Ticket fees will only be refunded up to 7 days before the event. If you wish to cancel your ticket the booking fee, which is absorbed by BASC on booking, (approx. £7.80) will not be refunded. If BASC cancel the event you will receive a full refund.
