Want to achieve outstanding finishes on your woodworking projects? Or looking to restore old furniture around the house? The one day introduction to wood finishing course aims to provide you with a better understanding of the ways to finish your projects. Learn from your skilled tutor how to stain and polish your wood to achieve a pleasing finish.
What you will learn
You will learn how to sand the wood to prepare it for a smooth finish. Be introduced to the stains and polishes available for wood, learn how to apply the stain and polish, and be guided on how to select a polish compatible with the stain. Furthermore, you will look at how to choose sanding sealers, waxes and shellac.

By the end of the course you will take home a certificate of attendance.
You will start your day with a welcome talk, including a hot drink, health and safety brief and a breakdown and review of the equipment you will be using.
This is a 'hands-on' course, each student being able to work at their own pace. The tutor will be able to demonstrate and explain the techniques to the group as a whole and in dividuals as required.
