Course Summary

Learn to deal with a variety of common wildlife emergency situations and to administer lifesaving first aid in a series of workshop scenarios. Explore legislation and conservation concerns as well as getting hands on with our hedgehogs in residence.


Entry requirements

You just need an interest in wildlife.


Course Content

This is an informal course covering emergency situation scenarios and appropriate first aid, with some information on laws and legislation relating to various British species. It finishes with a chance to ask questions and some practical handling at our animal unit.


How will I be assessed?

There is no formal assessment.
You will be given a Certificate of Attendance on successful completion of the course.


Are there any additional costs or specialist equipment required?

You need:

  • Sturdy flat footwear
  • Suitable clothing e.g. jeans/trousers and no dangling drawstrings
  • To tie back long hair
  • To avoid wearing jewellery or nail varnish
  • Writing materials
  • Refreshments
