New to the sector and looking to improve and develop your understanding and knowledge of fundraising? The Introductory Certificate in Fundraising is the first stage in the IoF Professional Qualification Framework and will provide you with a basic knowledge and understanding of fundraising and the sector itself, the surrounding legal framework and introduce you to some fundamental fundraising tools and techniques.
Who is this qualification for?
This qualification is designed for those who have been in post less than six months and who need to improve their current understanding; those not yet working in the sector and volunteers and trustees who wish to extend their knowledge of fundraising.
What are the benefits to you and your organisation?
You will become more confident in your knowledge and understanding of the fundraising sector to help you develop in your role. You will have a better understanding of key fundraising tools and techniques, an understanding of the fundamentals of why and how donors give and be able to use tools to help you measure successful fundraising activities. In addition to this you will gain an improved insight into the legal framework surrounding the sector.
What will you learn?
The Fundraising Environment unit provides you with an introduction to the voluntary sector, the nature of the giving relationship, the Code of Practice, Regulation and charity stakeholders.
The Role of Fundraising unit examines different sources of voluntary income, the case for support and fundraising performance.
The Fundraising Skills unit highlights key skills and the link between the category of fundraising, fundraising volunteers and donor relationship models.
The Learning about Fundraising unit covers the role of the Institute of Fundraising (IoF), fundraising standards and fundraising education.
How will you be assessed?
To gain the Introductory Certificate in Fundraising qualification you must successfully complete an online multiple choice assessment after this face-to-face training.
* Please Note: it is possible to take the course as a stand-alone training course without pursuing the qualification.
Once you have completed the face to face training, to gain the Introductory Certificate in Fundraising qualification you must successfully complete the online assessment (which you can start, save and return to at your convenience). Please note you must be an Individual member of the Institute to hold the qualification – a fee of £125 is payable for the online assessment.
