At the beginning of this year statistics revealed that internet users had reached 4 billion worldwide. Social media usage also grew rapidly to just over 3 billion with a staggering increase of 1 million new users every day across the top platforms. With more than two thirds of the world’s 7.6 billion inhabitants now owning a mobile it’s increasingly important that people to enjoy a rich online experience wherever and whenever they choose.

Adopting proactive digital marketing activities is therefore crucial for every company. This practical, introductory workshop will give you the skills to develop a competitive edge in the construction industry through increased brand awareness, lead generation and enhanced engagement with your client base.

The workshop will provide information on how to build and measure digital marketing activities that will raise the profile of your business and help sell your products and services to both your end clients and a wider market. As part of the workshop we will focus on practical tactics that will provide tangible return on investment as well as the importance of “rich” content and its necessity to be valuable, relevant, expected, engaging and measured.

Who is this workshop for?

This workshop is for Business Owners, Marketing Managers and staff, Sales Managers and Brand Managers who wish to use an effective and integrated digital marketing techniques in the Construction Industry. All content is aimed at an Introductory level to get you to start the process of digital inclusion. You do not need any previous experience in digital marketing to attend. An awareness of the social media platforms being used within your business is preferred but not essential.

It is advisable to bring a laptop, tablet or mobile phone to take part in activities throughout the workshop.

    Understand the importance of your web as an integrated central hub and the benefits of digital automation.

  • SEO
    So you have website… but can potential new customers find you? Learn practical tools to test and measure what your customers are searching for.

  • Email Marketing
    The importance of email marketing, not spamming and how to categorise customers to ensure that your communications are relevant


  • Developing Affordable Content
    Text, photos, videos, and live streaming all generate content. The workshop will show how you can build content that people click on and want to read.

  • Analytics and Reporting
    Understand the importance of measuring activities to ensure each “campaign” generates positive feedback and results.

Workshop Facilitator

Ian Sayers is one of the foremost software trainers within the creative sector. He is an international training specialist, mentor and digital marketing consultant working directly with clients around the globe on digital marketing projects. Associate trainer with AKU Training and director in GIANT Associates, Ian has worked closely with clients within the Construction Industry in Northern Ireland to create digital strategies and working techniques that provide substantial cost savings across the digital landscape. Ian has worked closely with the Marketing and Digital teams in Caterpillar, FG Wilson, Tobermore, Brett Martin, Ulster Carpets, Apple, Invest NI, BBC, Wacom and Adobe amongst many other brands, agencies, PLCs and SMEs.
