Event description
An introduction of socially engaged practice for artists. Suitable for those working in the community and school setting.

About this Event

At this event we will explore Socially Engaged (SE) practice (sometimes also referred to as participatory practice or community art). What is it? What are the ethics of it? What are the top tips and things you need to know BEFORE you start? What are your lifelines if your SE ship starts to sink? How do you know you are doing it right/well? How can you share the value of your work? Where can you find out and see more about SE? Where can you go to liaise with other SE minded people?

Introduction by Kim Wide from Take A Part, followed by a presentation of relevant SAW’s projects from our Learning and Engagement Manager Beccy Swaine.

NOTE: We recommend that you attend this event, you may be interested in taking part in the rest of the programme.
