Introductory talk to Georgia O'Keeffe exhibition
Sat 15 October 2016, 11:00 – 12:30 BST
Georgia O’Keeffe did her first solo exhibition a century ago in 1916 at Alfred Stieglitz’s Gallery, the famous photographer who was the first to discover her talent (and who became soon afterwards her husband, but that’s another story). O’Keeffe is renowned for her paintings of flowers, however the Tate Modern retrospective casts a light on other important aspects of her practice and on her independent, strong and sometimes lonely character.
We will first do an introductory talk at the Tate Modern and then walk through the exhibition together.
