About this event

Health • Mental health

This is an in-person talk, being held here at the Grapevine Centre. Intrusive thoughts, in the context of OCD, are where a person suffers with obsessional thoughts that are repetitive, disturbing and sometimes horrific in nature. Often they relate to relationships, sex, magical thinking, religion, the body, or violence. Intrusive thoughts are not voluntarily produced and they can cause the sufferer extreme distress. Ashley will explain how intrusive thoughts occur, the impact they have, some of the misconceptions around intrusive thoughts, and what help is available for people who experience them.

Please feel free to arrive from 6.15pm onwards so that we can get everyone settled with a drink before the talk starts promptly at 6.30pm.
