Level Two qualification in the identification and treatment of invasive species using knapsack sprayer and stem injection in or near water

About this event

Opportunity - Invasive Species Identification and Treatment Course

Sea2it can now announce the dates of 2022 Invasive Species Identification and Treatment Course. This is an opportunity for up to six volunteers to gain an accredited qualification (Lantra Level 2) including the following elements:

Identification of invasive and injurious species - Friday 14th January

Safe use of pesticides (PA1) - Tuesday 18th January

Hand held applicators (PA6AW) - Wednesday 19th January

Stem injection (PA6INJ) - Thursday 20th January

Practical Assessments - either Friday 21st or Tuesday 25th January

Registration costs £150 with the remainder of the course costs (c. £1,000) covered by Sea2it and the Department of Agriculture, Environment and Rural Affairs Water Quality Improvement Scheme 2021-22. Participants must complete all elements of the course and commit to assisting Sea2it with 5 volunteer days tackling invasive species in the Bann Estuary within the next 24 months.
