How many times did you hear about "Deep Science" and then hesitated? Maybe it is time for you to drill down.
This event will bring Spain's leading financial institutions and investors, that have no affinity to health tech, biotech and the rest of the deep science sectors. The aim is to introduce and effectively communicate why investing in science ventures may be an excellent alternative for investment.
The objectives of this event are to:

Mr. Nicholas Ibery is a surgeon and a corporate lawyer, and has over a 15 years of experience in health sector with a broad range of leadership roles in industry, finance and policy as an advisor in Whitehall. Mr. Nicholas is a Chairman Emeritus of the Leadership Group, Member of the Council and an Honorary Treasurer of the New Technology in Medicine Section at the Royal Society of Medicine. He is also a Founding Fellow of the Faculty of Medical Leadership and Management. As well as being an investor, Mr. Nicholas is a frequent speaker, panelist and lecturer, including at the Stanford University Graduate School of Business and the Royal Society of Medicine where he cofounded one of the first Leadership and Management Master-classes for clinical leaders and helped to launch the first future clinical leaders network in the UK. His particular interests include corporate governance, ethics, corporate social responsibility and innovation in healthcare. Mr.Nicholas holds undergraduate degrees in both Medicine and Law. He completed his medical training in London and specialised in Neurosurgery. He completed LL.B (Law) in London and postgraduate legal training in corporate law at the College of Law, where he graduated with Distinction. Mr.Nicholas also holds a Master’s Degree from the Imperial College and MBA from the London Business School with Coller Prize.
Mr. Casares is currently President of Tibidabo Ventures, Business Innovation Commissioner at the Instituto Tecnológico Leitat and President of the Spanish Mentoring Association. Additionally he works with many different companies, organizations, universities, public administrations and private investors in Spain, California and Colombia. Mr. Casares has been the founder of Servijob.com, the Business Angels Keiretsu Forum Spain network, the venture capital forum ForoCapitalPymes and the CITIC-Center of Industrial Technological Innovation of Colombia. As an investor he participated in the startup Verbio Technologies and co-founded the Spanish Association of Business Angels (AEBAN).
Mr. Barberà is currently the director of Biocat, the governmental organization that coordinates and promotes life sciences sector in Catalonia. He has a degree in Chemistry and Pharmacy and a PhD in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology. Mr. Barberà has held several positions in science management, first as the manager of the Institute of Health Carlos III Spanish Biomedical Research Centre in Diabetes and Associated Metabolic Disorders (CIBERDEM), later as scientific coordinator at IDIBAPS and, finally, as director of the IDIBGi. Over his career, he has obtained professional experience in both research and management of knowledge and innovation in the biomedical research environment and in health.
Currently all major Spanish Business Angel Networks have confirmed attendance and we are partnering with IESE and ESADE, two of the world’s top business schools, among other major local stakeholders, to deliver a high-end event.
