Events in March & April will take place online. Sustainability is more important now than ever, lets keep networking & learning together!

About this Event

We have organised the best solution to facilitate successful networking seminar events online, including our valuable Q&A, 60 second pitches and networking opportunities. Attendees will continue to be able to engage with other delegates in a similar way to our physical events, but using an exciting new online tool! Details will be given once you have purchased your ticket. The system used will be fully accessible for anyone with a good internet connection. A headset is recommended but not essential.

What is sustainable finance? How has sustainable investment changed and how is it evolving? What examples can we learn from? You, your money and the things you care about could all benefit from sustainable investing.

We will invite Coruisk Consulting and Network members Hawksmoor Investment Management and Triodos Bank to speak.

Ewen will introduce and demystify sustainable phraseology before providing a quick summary of what is currently happening at a Global, EU and UK level and then provide some thoughts on what the future may hold.

Ellen Harrison, Marketing Manager at Triodos Bank, will be speaking on “Sustainable finance in action”.

Ellen will explain how the bank lends and invests money to drive positive change. She’ll give case studies of loans and investments from across the organisation’s 25-year history of financing businesses, charities and entrepreneurs who are working to solve the social and environmental challenges of our time.

Meet The Speakers!

Ewen Cairns, Coruisk Consulting

Ewen helps financial intermediaries facilitate financial transactions between borrowers, lenders and investors looking to finance investment in alternatives to equity and bonds such as real estate, infrastructure and organisations with sustainable intentions.

Ewen has a particular focus on investments to enable a transaction to a non carbon economy including renewables, energy efficiency, sustainable waste and water management, sustainable land use, climate change adaptation, and clean buildings and transportation. He is co convener of the UK Environmental Lawyers Association Sustainable Development working group and member of the Scottish Parliament’s cross party Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency group.

James Clark, Senior Fund Analyst at Hawksmoor Investment Management

James is a member of Hawksmoor’s Research team, and manages the company’s private client Buy list. He also manages a Buy list of sustainable funds, and co-manages the Hawksmoor Sustainable World Model Portfolios. He has over 12 years of investment management experience.

Ellen Harrison, Marketing Manager, Triodos Bank

Triodos Bank is one of the most sustainable banks in the world. Its aim is to make money work for positive social, environmental and cultural change.

Ellen has been at the bank since 2016, and now manages the organisation’s business to business marketing and communications activity. A keen advocate for sustainable finance and its ability to change the world, she enjoys sharing the stories of the bank’s inspiring customers – from community pubs to housing co-ops, and organic farmers to healthcare providers.
