Description

Conservatives Party Conference 2017

After a spate of recent high-profile cyber-attacks against the National Health Service and the Houses of Parliament, there is an increasing public awareness of the threats that exist from state and non-state actors.

Join Ben Wallace MP, Minister of State for Security, for a panel discussion that focuses on the necessity of a growth plan that posits increased vigilance, improved training and investment in cyber-security infrastructure as essential requirements of a modern, high-tech, advanced economy. How prepared the UK is for potential attacks on businesses, financial institutions, major firms, critical national infrastructure, government institutions, control systems and supply chains? And how can the public and private sectors work together to mitigate these threats?

Chair:

Anoosh Chakelian - New Statesman Senior Writer

Speakers:

Rt Hon Ben Wallace MP - Minister of State for Security

Paul Taylor - UK Head of Cyber Security, KPMG

Mark Lavis-Jones - Director, Advanced Cyber Solutions, Cyber and Intelligence, Raytheon UK
