Details of The Pitch Presentations
There will be four pitches running through the evening carefully selected by our Vice Chair Frank Guinn, head of the Screening Team to ensure a good selection for all investor appetites. The first to be announced is:
Biomedical – In revenue
This Company has now been established for over 5 years and is embarking on a program of commercialising their production processes for growing cells in 3D, which is more predictive of the actual situation in the human body.
Put very simply, their processes produce nano-fibre ‘frameworks’ that resemble human cell structures and can therefore be designed to be ideal environments for actually growing human cells.
Over the past 12-18 months the company has moved its R&D and production into clean rooms and achieved the ISO13485 medical device quality accreditation, in order that it can produce ‘clinical-grade’ material suitable for human implantation.
As a result, it has now signed up its first customers, one of which is an American medical device Company.
Any new investment will primarily be used to grow their contract development and manufacturing service for other similar materials in regenerative devices.
The Regenerative Medicine Market is valued at over $1 billion, a third of which is in the tools and services segment where this Company believes it can quickly scale up the business.
‘Being discovered’ is what counts if you are a talented artist or band and are seeking exposure on the big media and broadcast platforms.
This local Company has researched the unsigned market and found out just how difficult is is for artists to gain recognition and be brought to the attention of the talent spotters in the music/entertainment industry.
It offers those who have demonstrated real talent, the opportunity to gain the right exposure, including studio time and in doing so, have their work appraised by people who could help them launch their careers to a wider public audience.
This Company describes itself as the 'one-stop shop' for client intelligence.
“Smart client intelligence” means aggregating publicly available data, (for example professional experience, latest tweets, radio/TV articles etc), and then offering the user the ability to analyse these data to build a concise client profile, without recourse to Google, LinkedIn, Twitter, media and other databases.
The end result is that executives and sales personnel avoid 'information overload’ and have the time to prepare for meetings and manage client interactions effectively
Initially an online, award-winning jewellery brand, with high gross margins and £4M sales, this Company is now becoming a multi-channel enterprise driven by consumer demand and celebrity endorsement.
Having launched a discreet showroom in 2014, where sales exceeded 600K in the first 12 months, management are now raising funds to take this successful pilot to a full scale launch into concept stores and department store concessions.
There are in-depth questions and follow-up on each presentation. It completes the first part of the evening. Investors then relax over a 2 course private dinner with wine.
