Investors on Stage with Verizon Ventures & R/GA's IOT Accelerator
Mon 8 May 2017, 18:30 – 21:00 BST
Building a company is hard. Convincing strangers to give you money to do it is harder. So we thought we’d even the playing field and give you access to the investors. We will be joined by Daniel Chui (Verizon Ventures) and Matt Webb (MD of RG/A's IOT accelerator) to find out what trends they are seeing, what ideas they are backing, what they are looking for in a deal, and how you should approach them. Meet them, ask the questions you need answers to, and walk away with a face to the name, and maybe a business card…
Daniel Chui joined Verizon Ventures in 2013 and is part of the Venture Development team. In addition to sourcing new investment opportunities and managing business development deals for existing portfolio companies, Daniel also manages Verizon’s sponsorship of Techstars’ Mobility and IOT accelerator programs. He is an experienced business professional in the emerging technology and media space, specializing in partnership management, strategy, competitive intelligence and analysis, and financial analysis. Prior to joining Verizon Ventures, Daniel worked at Alcatel-Lucent, Datamonitor Inc. (now Ovum), and Motorola. He holds a B.S. in Chemical Engineering from the University of Michigan and an MBA from London Business School.
MD of R/GA's Internet of Things startup accelerator, based in London, UK. Ex UK government. Ex Techstars. Ex Berg (co-founder) which has had an awesome history and built things I never thought possible (including the design, build, manufacture and support of one of the world's first consumer Internet of Things devices, from hardware to cloud and everything else). Fast Company placed Berg as one of the world's 50 most innovative companies. We got work in the permanent collection of the New York MoMA.
