Description

Cardiff Centre for Medical Education (C4ME) 2018 Seminar Series

Gratitude in healthcare and its lessons for education

Gratitude is an important driver of morale, both in healthcare and in education. This seminar will explore the nature of gratitude and what it can tell us about personal and professional values in the ‘era of entitlement’. How can an understanding of gratitude – and the ‘narrative nuance’ that is so important in dialogic relationships – improve the way we teach and learn?

Giskin Day is a principal teaching fellow at Imperial College London. She coordinates over 30 interdisciplinary courses in the humanities as part of the Imperial Horizons programme offered to all Imperial College students, and is a course director for a new BSc in Medical Sciences with Humanities, Philosophy & Law.
