Who should attend:
This session is aimed at both paid staff and volunteers who support other volunteers within an organisation.
Overview:
Volunteers are a valuable resource providing the backbone of many community organisations, and without whom, many groups would not exist. This introductory session is a great place to start learning best practice in recruiting, supporting and retaining volunteers.
Topics covered:
• Why people volunteer and the importance of motivation• Volunteer Policy – what does a ‘good’ policy look like?• Recruitment – writing good role descriptions to recruit effectively• Supporting volunteers• Retention of volunteers – reward and recognition
Please note this accredited free training is supported by Shropshire Council and managed by the Shropshire Infrastructure Partnership Voluntary & Community Support Team. To support community groups, voluntarily organisations and volunteers within Shropshire only. This course is part of a launch offer and we are offering two free places per organisation for courses held between March and May. Free spaces are limited and restricted to two places per organisation.
This training will be delivered via Zoom. Once you have successfully booked onto your chosen free course. You will be emailed a few days before the training date, to give you the meeting ID and password to join the session
We do offer a waiting list facility. So, if you are unable to attend, please could you let us know as soon as possible via email so we can then offer your free place to someone else.
