Stephen George

Steven George

Stephen George is a Fundraising and Leadership Coach and consultant specialising in helping charity leaders become more entrepreneurial leaders who change behaviour and raise more money. He is currently working on global legacies strategies for international NGOs and runs a leadership and coaching programme. He has over 30 years’ experience at all levels in the UK and internationally at NSPCC, UNICEF, RNIB, Action on Hearing Loss, Maggie’s and Scope and is a speaker, writer, podcaster and contributor to NGOs. He was chairman of Remember a Charity, a consortium promoting gifts in wills and is now Vice Chairman of the Institute of Fundraising.

Ryan O'Connor

With nearly nine years experience of working within the charity sector, Ryan O’Connor has a proved track record at organisations such as St John Ambulance, British Red Cross and for the previous five years the British Lung Foundation. During this time he has lead high performing fundraising teams as well as organisational wide legacies strategies. This involved putting gifts in wills front and centre of their fundraising strategy, promoting this form of giving to both new and existing audiences. He also oversaw an award-nominated legacy promotional campaign as well as raising yearly income from £1.5m to £3.3m over the past three years

Alexis Fairclough

Alexis Fairclough

Alexis Fairclough's fundraising career began 16 years ago. She moved to Cancer Research UK from British Red Cross as a Regional Legacy Manager. She has been at CRUK for almost 5 years and is currently a Team Manager managing 3 regionally based Partnership Managers and 4 Legacy Officers. She started and chairs Legacy Liverpool; a collaborative campaign to raise awareness across Liverpool of leaving a gift in your Will to a local charity.

Matt Smith

Matt Smith

Matt has been involved in gifts in Wills since 2011.  He has worked as a legacy officer, manager and consultant at RNIB, RAF Benevolent Fund and is currently implementing and embedding all things legacy at London’s Air Ambulance.  He says one of the best things about working in legacies is how collaborative it is, through consortiums such as Remember A Charity and the IOF’s special interest group. Matt is a really passionate in talking about gifts in Wills, and firmly believes that with just a little guidance, all charity workers would be confident in having these conversations too.

Michael Clark

Michael Clark

Michael has spent the last 12 years in fundraising, working for Age UK, PDSA and currently the Cystic Fibrosis Trust. He is a founding member of Legacy and In-memory East, sits on Executive Committee of Remember A Charity, committee member for IOF Legacy and In-memory SIG and In-memory Foresight. He won the Legacy10 Award for excellence in 2015.
