Relationship Fundraising

Better for the supporter, better for your charity

Would you like to learn more about taking a supporter-led approach to fundraising?

In 2011 Anthony Nolan began to shift from a product-led fundraising strategy to focus on building stronger relationships with supporters. This shift led to an increase in net income from £189K to >£1m over the last six years.

In this month’s masterclass, guest speaker Lawrie Mallyon will explore the practicalities of how the charity makes relationship fundraising a reality. He will reveal how your charity can unlock maximum lifetime value from supporters and provide practical tips that are relevant to charities of all shapes and sizes.

Lawrie MallyonLawrie works in the Community Team at the national blood cancer charity, Anthony Nolan. He is responsible for looking after the charity’s high value community supporters. He focuses on building relationships and understanding the motivations of individual fundraisers in order to produce tailored stewardship plans that incorporate how they want to engage with the charity outside of fundraising, leading to better, long-term support.

Lawrie has been working in Community Fundraising for 6 years managing and supporting volunteers, fundraising groups, and individuals. Having started as a sole fundraiser at a small, local charity where he completed a fundraising scholarship, Lawrie has experience of working in different sized organisations with differing levels of resource.

Where possible, we book reserve speakers for each IoF Thursday. These speakers will be able to give the 20 Minute Masterclass on a similar topic if our speaker is no longer able to attend. If, due to unforeseen circumstances, the speaker at an IoF Thursday event is unable to attend, we will notify you, and give you the details of the reserve speaker.  We will email you via the address provided on the booking form as soon as possible.  All those who have booked for the particular IoF Thursday will be able to cancel their place up to 2pm on the day of the event.  If we are unable to confirm an alternative speaker for an IoF Thursday event, we will still go ahead and will facilitate a group discussion in place of the 20 Minute Masterclass followed by a networking session.
