Description

In February:

Pop along to hear this insightful session and network with like minded people!

We are looking forward to hearing from Tom Reeves; Charity Fundraising Executive for Free Radio Cash For Kids, the official charity of Free Radio; 4 hit music radio stations that broadcast across the West Midlands. The charity has a national footprint in that it operates in all Bauer Media radio stations (Key 103 iin Manchester, City in Liverpool, Absolute Radio, Magic etc) but is run locally to ensure all projects and monies raised stay within he region.

Tom has been working in fundraising less than a year and recently led the Mission Christmas project; with the aim of supplying gifts to the 1 in 4 children still living in the West Midlands living in poverty. The Mission gave gifts to well over 5000 children across the region benefiting over 30 different organisations from councils, schools, community bodies to food banks and women's refuges.

Before working in charity, Tom spent most of his career MAKING radio. He's produced programmes in Wales, across the Midlands and South Coast. Sam & Mark, JD & Roisin, Jo & Sparky, Dan & Naomi, Hursty & Helen are just some of the teams he's worked with as well as producing Free Radio Live on air. He's been on Page 3 of The Sun, won an award for social media marketing dressed as a Cat, ice skated in front of 4,000 people & procuded shows live from New York, France and the Caribbean!

Charity & community has always been a strong focus, Tom's run numerous marathons, 1/2 marathons and completed numerous physical challenges for various charities & causes. He's also a Level 2 rugby coach and currently coaches Worcester Mixed Ability Rugby, a team formed to bring people back into rugby including those who'd normally NEVER be allowed to play including players with physical & mental disabilities and barriers.

Tom's got married, moved house & changed job in 2017... 2018 he's become a father! Tom's been busy but looks forward to chatting to you all in February!

First Thursday is a friendly networking group, often showcasing relevant guest speakers, for anyone working or volunteering to raise funds within the West Midlands and surrounding areas. Your opportunity to meet, network, share ideas and unwind after work with other Fundraising Professionals including Fundraising Managers.
