Event description

Description

Sponsored by Hays NI and supported by Chariteer this is the first in a series of 4 Fundraising Masterclasses that will endeavour to provide guidance and advice to the Fundraising Sector in NI - the first one will focus on Fundraising Strategies.

Developing a Fundraising Strategy that works for you

At the heart of every successful fundraising programme is a coherent fundraising strategy, owned by everyone in the fundraising team and shared by your organisation as a whole.

Starting with the case for support and following a clear set of steps, Alice will lead delegates through a tried and tested process to develop a coherent strategy. Drawing on her own experience and addressing delegates’ individual challenges and objectives, this will be a practical, action orientated session giving you the tools you need to move your fundraising strategy forward.

About your Masterclass speaker - Alice Garrad

Alice Garrad is a highly experienced consultant and hands-on practitioner with a particular specialism in major donor, trusts and corporate fundraising. Based in Northern Ireland for 20 years, she has continued to work in GB and the Republic of Ireland as well as locally, giving her a broad fundraising perspective, in tune with new fundraising approaches and current fundraising challenges.

Before setting up her own consultancy, Alice led Save the Children UK’s corporate fundraising team and pioneered the charity’s first major donor campaign. Alice Garrad Consulting specialises in the strategic development of fundraising, mentoring and training, undertaking a vast array of projects including NI Hospice, Barnardo’s NI, Concern Worldwide Cancer Fund for Children and Belfast Charitable Society.

For the last 5 years, Alice has taken on interim and project specific leadership positions. In 2015/16 Alice led Mencap in Northern Ireland's Big Step Forward Appeal raising £2.5m in just under 2 years to build, equip and run a new centre for children with a learning disability and their families, winning the Institute of Fundraising (NI) Team of the Year Award. A successful fundraising campaign for the Northern Ireland Human Rights Fund (hosted by Community Foundation for Northern Ireland followed. Since 2017 Alice has returned to Mencap, leading the House to Home Appeal, raising £6m for community based supported housing in England, Wales and NI.
