Iona’s voice displays incredible confidence and maturity… Even without accompaniment, Iona’s voice is as finely tuned, precise and eminently enjoyable an instrument as you’ll find… Utterly haunting.” – Folk Radio UK
Aberdeenshire folksinger, Iona Fyfe, has become one of Scotland’s finest young ballad singers, rooted deeply in the singing traditions of the North East of Scotland. A finalist in the BBC Radio Scotland Young Traditional Musician of the Year 2017, Iona embraces the repertoire of her native North East throughout the UK and Europe.
Hailing from Huntly, Iona draws inspiration from source and revivalist singers and is a fine interpreter of traditional folksong in a contemporary manner yet sympathetic to tradition. A BBC Radio 2 Young Folk Award competitor, she has performed at venues such as The Music Hall Aberdeen, Glasgow Royal Concert Hall, the Mitchell Theatre and most recently The Royal Albert Hall in London. With her band, Iona has performed extensively at festivals such as Celtic Connections and Folkest International Folk Festival in Italy.

Old Blind Dogs
'We are treated to a blistering traditional tune-set Bunker Hill/ Sandy Boys, led by the rocket-fuelled bagpipes of Ali Hutton. And Aaron Jones’ superbly expressive guitar/bouzouki-playing and Jonny Hardie’s sensitive, soaring fiddle-playing are impressive throughout the album.' fRoots
Not many bands enjoy the kind of longevity that the Old Blind Dogs do as they celebrate their 25 year anniversary in 2017. With original band member Jonny Hardie (fiddle, vocals) joined by Aaron Jones (bouzouki, cittern, guitar, vocals), Ali Hutton (pipes, whistles, vocals) and newest band member, Donald Hay (percussion, vocals), they have just released their twelfth album 'Room With a View.' Old Blind Dogs are still very much a force to be reckoned with and show no sign of losing their touch with this exhilarating mix of energetic rhythms and sensitive melodies.
