Event description

Description

On the 19th of July the Institute of Physics and Oxford University will be hosting a public talk by Professor Paul Leeson, who will be talking about his work on an artificial intelligence system to diagnose disease.

Stress echocardiography is one of the most widely applied imaging tests for diagnosis of heart disease but relies on the eye and skill of the operator to make a diagnosis. Over the last five years our research team in Oxford have been applying machine learning and artificial intelligence methodologies to large scale datasets of echo images to identify novel approaches to generate accurate and consistent automated assessment of stress echocardiograms. These tools are now being evaluated on ‘real world’ images from cardiology centres across the UK.

The talk is open to anyone with an interest and will start at 19:00 with refreshments served from 18:45.

Registration is not essential, but helps us judge capacity and the refreshments required.
