Course Overview
This course will provide you with the knowledge and practical tools to tackle the many and varied health and safety issues that arise within your organisation.
Target audience
This course is suitable for anyone working at any role, at any level. There are no pre-requisites for attendance.
Learning aims:
- To provide learners with an understanding of how their actions in the workplace contribute to safety and health
- To ensure that learners clearly understand their safety and health responsibilities.
Learning outcomes:
By the end of the course, attendees will be able to:
- Identify why it is important to work safely
- Identify everyone’s responsibilities in relation to safety, health and wellbeing in the workplace
- Define key terms in safety and health
- Identify workplace hazards and risks, their impact and how to control them
- Identify ways safety, health and wellbeing are managed and improved within the workplace
Trainer
Juliet Hayes started her theatre career working Front of House at Greenwich Theatre and Stoll Moss Theatres, moving to Box Office Management at the Shaftesbury Theatre before progressing to Theatre Management for ATG.
After managing two West End venues, she took on a new role of Risk & Sustainability Advisor with ATG. Juliet was also a founding member of English Youth Ballet and continues to work part-time as their Company, H&S & Child Licensing Manager.
She went on to work as a trainer with RB Health & Safety Solutions before returning to Venue & Operations Management playing an instrumental role in setting up Mamma Mia the Party! At The O2.
Juliet retuned to Health, Safety & Sustainability Management with the ENO before being recruited to join SOLT & UK Theatre in 2023.

This is an in-person course at SOLT & UK Theatre, 32 Rose Street, London WC2E 9ET.
Tea, coffee and refreshments will be provided.
Joining instructions will be sent via email a week prior to the course.

Refunds and Cancellations
You can cancel up until 10 working days prior to the course, and receive a full refund (not including Eventbrite Fees, which are non-refundable). Any cancellations after this will not be refunded, but tickets can be transferred to a future course up to one year later.

Accessibility Information
This course will be held entirely in-person, please see our website for information on visiting SOLT & UK Theatre, which includes access information.
- Attendees who require a Carer or Personal Assistant to accompany them on the course can book a free Carer ticket by emailing members@soltukt.co.uk.
- Ramp access at ground floor level (there is otherwise one step into the building).
- Reception and conference rooms are located on the first floor of the building. This can be accessed by the lift or via 25 stairs. Accessible toilets are available on the first and second floors.
- Assistance Dogs welcome throughout the building and to all events - the nearest park is Victoria Embankment Gardens (by Embankment tube station - 0.4 miles away).
- Hearing loop systems are available in the meeting and conference rooms.
- Regular breaks will be scheduled throughout the day.
