Event Details

Join us for the IoT Engineers London kick-off event!

For this special occasion, we've made sure we have the best speakers, engaging subjects, and most importantly, the best food (more on that below).

Our talks for the night are ... *drum roll*

Testing a Bluetooth LE link in 3 easy steps by Tom Elliot. How good is the BLE solution in your prototype hardware? What functional range can you expect from your final product? How about battery life? RF design is always a tricky topic, so avoiding it as much as possible is generally the right approach for small companies and fast design cycles. Unfortunately even if you're using an off the shelf module, you still need to know how well it's going to work for your product and your customers, and you don't want to wait until you have the product in your hands to find out.

IoT-Specific Challenges for Automated Testing - Lessons from real-life IoT automated testing by Stefan Ross This talk will look at a bug which nearly got to production: how it came about; what systems helped and what went wrong, as well as the challenges of testing semi-reliable behaviour.

How Not To Do Mesh Networking by Gideon Farrell So you want to collect sensor data from a network of devices on a construction site? Why not build a mesh network. Nothing out there is quite suitable for your use case, you say? Well, roll your own! How hard can it be? Very hard. In this talk I'll outline the challenges we were facing, why we went for a mesh network and what it was like rolling our own (and why it was not a good idea).

More on food: L'antica Pizzeria Da Michele has come straight from Naples, and is recognized as the number one pizzeria in the world - Not something you want to miss.

About The Speakers
