Reinventing the wheel, lengthy programming and unreliable networks are some of the basic problems that result in many IoT applications never delivering their hoped-for results. In less than a year, the Pycom team has achieved its mission of solving these basic problems for IoT developers. They have gone from shipping a single WiFi-enabled WiPy to delivering the LoPy, a unique multi-network IoT development board, together with a software suite that includes an IDE and a mobile app.
The workshop will provide you with hands-on experience of using MicroPython to program the LoPy and to use it to send sensor data to a LoRa gateway. We will provide you with a LoPy to use during the workshop.
In order to benefit from the workshop, you should already have a working knowledge of Python. You will also need to bring your own laptop — please install the Pymakr IDE before coming to the workshop.
