iPad 101
The iPad has been around now for 9 years. It’s hard now to imagine a classroom without them, but do you shudder at the thought of delving into the iPad’s settings & habitually call upon the ICT Coordinator when troubleshooting is required?
Perhaps you want to know a bit more about what makes the iPad tick - in order to develop both your own understanding and confidence in the use of the iPad in the classroom, to help yourself, when problems occur?
Consign your fears and misapprehensions to Room 101. Take iPad 101 to take your iPad confidence to new heights!
We will look at Set up of an iPad from Factory Reset condition, under the latest iOS version, iOS12, highlighting recommended General and Advanced Settings and Restrictions for a School context. We will look forward to the upcoming iOS update, iOS 13, providing an overview of what is to come. We will also reflect on strategies to consider when planning how, and when, to prepare your devices for upgrade. Importantly will also look at how best to utilise your older devices when iOS Upgrades leave them behind, so that they do not become entirely redundant.
We shall look too at Content Storage, iPad Connectivity, Sharing and Troubleshooting strategies to ensure that you can become a self sufficient confident iPad using Teaching Professional
This one day course will be of interest not just to ICT Coordinators but any teaching staff who wants to better understand what makes these devices tick and declare their technical independence!
No prior knowledge of the inner workings of the device required. iPads will be made available for use on the day. Participants may wish to bring along a school iPad in addition to configure their own device.
