HANDS ON iPAD TRAINING SESSION - MIKE WATKINSON Jigsaw24

There is a choice of 2 sessions please choose when registering

Morning 10.00 - 12.30 or

Afternoon 2.00 - 4.30

As we are limited to numbers please book only 1 ticket per family/school.

Each session will cover:

Meeting Learners needs: access to learning with iPad

A hands on workshop for all those teaching and supporting learners with dyslexia and related challenges.

iPads will be provided so you can discover hands-on howiPad can remove barriers to learning without stigma.

No real age/KS range.

All levels of experince are welcome - from beginner to regular user.

(These are adult only training sessions. Unfortunatley this event is not open to children)

Trainer: Mike Watkinson from Jigsaw24 will cover:

  • Using the Device - navigational tips and tricks

  • Exploring built in accessibility features - entering, reading and accessing text

  • Addressing different learning styles

  • Structuring and scaffolding learning and addressing a range of challenges without stigma

  • Built in and third party apps that support learning

  • Resources and websites

About the Trainer

Mike Watkinson is a musician, educator and writer. Working with Apple in an educational context since the mid 90's as a teacher, lecture, manager, assessor and currriculum designer in a range of education settings including futher and higher edcucation, he is now using a broad skill set to support schools and teachers with the implementation of all Apple technologies.

Formerly an Apple Distinguished Educator and now an Apple Educational Trainer and Appple Certified Trainer, his workshops aim to empower teachers who are using Apple solutions to transform their classrooms, across the whole curriculum.

Mike has worked for Jigsaw24 for four years as their lead trainer, including event support and hands-on workshops for all 48 nationwide events on the recent DfE dunded Neurodiversity Awareness tour alongside the UK's leading Dyslexia organisations.
