Event description

Description

Earlier this year IPPR launched its Commission on Economic Justice to set out how policy makers can re-write the rules of the UK's post Brexit economy.

This piece of work begs the question 'what is economic justice?' or 'what do we want our economy to deliver?'. This event will bring together leading economists and thinkers to answer this fundamental question.

The event will open with a keynote speech from Nobel Prize winning economist, Jean Tirole, based on his forthcoming book Economics For The Common Good.

Attendees will then hear responses from:

  • Professor Lord Richard Layard, Founder-Director of the Centre for High Performance at LSE, and author of numerous books including Happiness: Lessons From a New Science
  • Professor Kate Pickett, Professor of Epidemiology at the University of York, co-founder of the Equality Trust and co-author of The Spirit Level
  • Campbell Robb, Director of the Joseph Rowntree Foundation and former Director of the homelessness charity, Shelter
