Description


Overview

The initial section of this programme covers the preparation of the pre-pressed framework. Participants will be shown how to characterise the pressed frameworks in order to alter shading and give the correct platform for optimum aesthetic results.

The training programme will cover in detail initial ingot selection and more advanced techniques with which to layer the differing frameworks. The layering techniques shown will encompass the latest developments in the IPS e.max Ceram range, including the new layering concept involving Power Dentine and IPS e.max Ceram Select materials. Course participants will be referring to images of natural dentition during construction of their restorations. The course concludes with techniques used for achieving natural looking surface texture via glazing and polishing.

This course is ideally suited to Dental Technicians with experience in dental ceramics, however familiarity with the IPS e.max Ceram material is not imperative.

Aims & Objectives

• Learn how to determine ingot selection given differing tooth preparation shades.
• Understand the significance of the different ingot translucencies when matching shades.
• Understand the importance of correct trimming and adjustment of Lithium Disilicate, and the adverse effects of incorrect procedures.
• Learn how to use the latest developments in the IPS e.max layering Ceramic in order to control brightness.
• Understand the correct layering techniques when using IPS e.max Ceram when matching natural dentition.
• Learn how to modify firing parameters in order to achieve more stable results.
• Learn how to identify and mimic form and surface texture.
