Internal Quality Assurance

Course Content

This course is required for all those wishing to be an IQA for their teams training

Learning objectives for the IQA course as follows:-


1. Explain the key concepts and principles of internal quality assurance of the assessment process
2. Explain the role and responsibilities of an Internal Quality Assurer
3. Apply and evaluate internal assessment and quality assurance systems
4. Support assessors to develop and maintain their own competence
5. Monitor the quality of assessors’ performance
6. Understand the issues relating to H&S, equality and diversity that may affect assessment and quality assurance
7. Meet the relevant external quality assurance requirements
8. Develop and maintain professional and occupational competence


Timings

The course will run from 0900rs – 1600 hrs. – The course may finish early depending upon candidate's progress.

Trainers

Simon Cole

..."Simon has been a police officer for over 20 years, serving with the Metropolitan and Kent forces and is currently responsible for managing all assessment and quality assurance functions for Kent Police. In 2011 he set up Historica Training Solutions in order to deliver professional training and qualifications for volunteers, practitioners and professionals working within the natural and historic environment. He also provides assessment and quality assurance services to a number of organisations within the criminal justice sector."

Simons Qualifications

Advanced Certificate in Education (Post Compulsory)

Level 3 Certificate in Assessing Candidates using a Range of Methods (A1)

Level 4 Certificate in Internal Verification (V1)

Level 4 Certificate in Managing the Internal Quality Assurance of Assessment Processes (TAQA 6317-42)

QCF Qualifications

The Centre has approval to offer the following qualifications from the Qualifications and Credit Framework (QCF). Which you may want to consider especially anyone who wants to assess professionally, this will be explained fully during the course

  • SFJ Awards L3 Award in Understanding the Principles and Practices of Assessment
  • SFJ Awards L3 Award in Assessing Competence in the Work Environment
  • SFJ Awards L3 Award in Assessing Vocationally Related Achievement
  • SFJ Awards L3 Certificate in Assessing Vocational Achievement
