Event Details

IQE is excited to be initiating its Open Technology Challenge, "openiqe" and would like to invite you to the launch event.

The aim of the IQE Open Technology Challenge is to work with businesses and academic institutions in Wales to develop and enhance a regional supply chain, from semiconductors and other base materials through to end products. The programme will focus on the three key areas as identified in the Science for Wales strategy;

  • healthcare,
  • advanced materials and engineering and
  • sustainable energy and the environment.

This initiative is funded by the Welsh Government through the European Regional Development fund and has the potential to act as a foundation for developing a stable technology cluster in Wales that could make a global impact.

The launch event will provide an overview to the programme and will include a workshop on Open Innovation and keynote speaker, Roy Sandbach, who is the David Goldman Visiting Professor of Innovation and Enterprise at Newcastle University. Roy has a wealth of experience in running Open Innovation based R&D programmes at P&G.

More information will be available at nearer the event.

This event is aimed at decision makers and senior/mid management in SMEs, larger companies and academics working in the areas of Healthcare, Sustainable Energy / Low Carbon Technologies and Advanced Engineering and Materials. It is FREE and part of the ESTnet Open Doors Programme.
