About this Event

Dr Carmel Digman BSc. MA. D.Phil.

Carmel is a senior clinical psychologist working with the adult Mental Health of Learning Disability team in Kent. The team covers a wide area with a case load which includes clients with a range of ability, complex presentations and diverse mental health conditions. She is an experienced lecturer specialising in profound and multiple learning disability mental health, autism and complex communication disorders, trauma experiences of adults with learning disabilities and using drama, narrative and role play in therapy and teaching. She is currently exploring ways of approaching therapy for trauma with people who are unable to access talking therapy because of their complex needs. Her publications and conference presentations have been in social, emotional and behavioural difficulties in children, working with families, the experience of parents from care backgrounds and complex learning disability case studies.

Stephanie Hunter

Stephanie is a qualified Social Worker working for thirteen years in Local Authority Children’s Services, CAFCASS and CAMHS. She won national awards and accolades for the services she developed.

Stephanie maintains strong links with her local authority Adoption team and has published joint research in relation to promoting recovery from trauma through post-adoption support. She is also an experienced trainer and has developed a well received online training package focusing on recovery from trauma.

Carrie Wilson-Harrop

Carrie Wilson-Harrop is a Care Leaver and currently works as the Young People’s and Project Coordinator at the Care Leavers Association. In addition, she is a member of the Board of Directors and Treasurer for IFCO and has other voluntary roles. She advises the Board on LAC issues and oversees the membership network.
