Description

The United Kingdom’s impending departure from the European Union presents major challenges for Ireland as well as for the United Kingdom.

This seminar will cover selected key issues relating to the impact of Brexit on Ireland:

  • The constitutional issues, for Ireland and the devolved nations of the UK
  • The energy sector in Ireland
  • The rights of Irish citizens in the UK after Brexit
  • Ireland’s role in the EU, before and after Brexit

Ireland and Brexit will be the third seminar in a series of ESRC-funded seminars that focus on the impacts leaving the EU will have (i) for devolved government and public policy in Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland and (ii) for Ireland.
