Dear IIEA Members and Friends,

The IIEA Brussels is pleased to present a talk dealing with the future of Europe and in that context discussing Brexit and how Ireland's partnerships and relationships will evolve in a post-Brexit EU. We have the special honour of being addressed by Helen McEntee, Minister of State for European Affairs who will give an overview, from her current position, on the state of play and how the situation may develop over the coming years.

Definitely an event not to miss!

About Minister Helen McEntee

Helen McEntee was appointed Minister for Mental Health and Older People at the Department of Health in May 2016 after having first been elected to Dáil Éireann in 2013.

In June 2017, she was appointed Minister of State for EU Affairs by An Taoiseach at the Departments of the Taoiseach and Foreign Affairs and Trade.

She previously served on the Oireachtas Committee on Transport and Communications, and was also a member of the Oireachtas Committee on Environment, Culture and the Gaeltacht.

Minister McEntee graduated from DCU in 2007 with a B.A (Hons) degree in Law, Politics and Economics and also holds a Master's degree in Communications and Journalism.

Before becoming a public representative, Helen worked in the Department of Agriculture and previously within the banking industry.

The IIEA Brussels committee is working hard to present yet another interesting programme for its 2017-2018 season.
