Event description

Description

The Institute for Research in Schools (IRIS) is an educational charity that supports schools in carrying out their own original research projects. By providing access to equipment, data and research expertise, students and teachers can investigate areas of interest to them. Findings are shared at scientific conferences organised by IRIS and published in articles and research journals.

STEM Ambassadors have an important role to play in supporting this work in schools. This can be through regular contact with students carrying out a research project or in a stand-alone session to help plan and start a project.

This session will introduce you to the IRIS approach in schools and you will have the opportunity to familiarise yourself with one or two projects in more depth.

Further information about our projects can be found on our website: http://researchinschools.org/

In order to attend this event you should be registered as a STEM Ambassador in Scotland.
