Event description
Our Annual Residential Weekend has become a firm favourite with our members . This year there should be something for everyone...

About this Event

Variety will be the hallmark of this busy and fun weekend .

Music Director Brian MacKay plans to continue his celebration of Beethoven's anniversary year by introducing the choir to some of the great composer's choral music that they are unlikely to have encountered before. On the lighter side, we will be brushing up on our small-concert repertoire. If you are new to the choir, this will be invaluable for you, as rehearsal time for these events is always very limited. Baroque music will be back on the menu as well. We have invited our friends from the newly-formed Irish Doctors Orchestra to share the house with us and during our stay both groups will be working on 18th century music for a performance together in Dublin's Rotunda hospital. We can expect to spend some time working on a few well known Handel choruses.... from Messiah and more!

There will still be plenty of time to relax in An Grianán's private 'piano bar' and reception rooms. Returning favourites will include Michael's wine tasting quiz* and the Littoral Plod. New ideas for entertainment always welcome.

Full board is provided in the delightful setting of An Grianán: Food and accommodation for this event is booked separately by contacting An Grianán direct and partners/ family will be very welcome. We suggest that you book early this year to ensure your place. "All bookings through An Grianán on 041 9822119 or admin@an-grianan.ie We are renowned for our hospitality, good food and warm welcome" Niamh Donegan, An Grianán Manager.

* we will be asked to contribute a small additional sum to participate in the wine -tasting evening
