Description

A unique irrigation visit Paphos Cyprus

Come and see how others manage irrigation. Get lots of new ideas. UKIA has arranged irrigation visits to Bulgaria, France, Italy, Morocco, Spain, Israel. Now, with the help of friends in Paphos we are planning a visit to Cyprus.

Ideal visit for farmers, growers, consultants, agency staff, and equipment suppliers involved in irrigation and drainage

This year we will visit Paphos in Cyprus - the mythical birth place of Aphrodite, the Greek goddess of love. We may not bump into her but through our friends in Paphos we expect to get an inside view of their water infrastructure (the southern water conveyor and Asprokremmos Dam (I helped to design it back in the 1960s and it is still intact! - see picture), visit farms irrigating fruit and veg including potatoes for the UK market, and meet water managers to learn more about how Cyprus manages extreme water scarcity - both surface and groundwater.
Full programme available shortly.
