Event description

Description

100 years ago the Representation of the People Act passed, giving the vote to all men and some women in the UK, and 50 years ago the Women’s Liberation Movement began a sustained campaign for equal rights. Join author Eva Tutchell as she discusses her new book, The Stalled Revolution, drawing on historical and contemporary perspectives to convey what it felt like to be at the heart of the campaigns; the excitement, the solidarity, the suffering and the humour. The Stalled Revolution poses a vital question about the future: are women ready to draw inspiration from past successes and take a third leap forward towards equality?
