This networking event is designed to inspire any business person, academic or researcher through hearing the experiences of academic and business leaders. The panel’s speakers will reflect on what leadership is and whether it is gender biased.

Almuth is Professor of Organisastional Psychology at Birkbeck University of London where she heads up her department is part of her school's leadership team. Having come to organisational psychology after a career in the performing arts and fitness, Almuth is committed to research with relevance and impact to practice. Her areas of expertise include work-life balance, managing the 'always on culture', performance and professional development. She has led a number of research projects including the first ever UK survey into work-life balance in the performing arts, and been involved in a cross-disciplinary project looking at policing training.

Nadia is a chartered psychologist, Executive MBA and Founder of Avenir Consulting. She is a professional coach, business consultant and facilitator with over 15 years’ experience in the field of organisational development, leadership development and talent management. Nadia has enjoyed working with a diverse range of global clients including HSBC, Nestlé, GlaxosmithKline, BP, the NHS, Britvic, Lloyd’s Banking Group, Kellogg, BAE Systems and the Civil Service. She has a deep expertise and specialism in the field of gender diversity and inclusion. Her 2016 ground breaking research on men working flexibly and the systemic impact on women, organisations and society has achieved significant publicity and attention. In 2018 she conducted a UK-wide piece of research on behalf of Business in the Community looking at the organisational barriers to male caring. Nadia works with organisations to facilitate gender balance, creating a culture where all genders are supported in their careers and their caring responsibilities.

Hamish Nicklin is the Chief Revenue Officer of The Guardian News and Media Group. He is responsible for driving operational and strategic direction across the media, jobs and Labs businesses. Hamish will also have responsibility for building long-term, sustainable business relationships directly with clients and agencies across the globe. Hamish reports directly to David Pemsel, the CEO, and is a member of the Guardian, News & Media Executive Committee.
Previously, Hamish was at AOL UK where he was the Managing Director where he oversaw business strategy and operations across the company's content brands, programmatic and video platforms on both the demand and supply side of the market equation. In the UK this included AOL’s editorial brands The Huffington Post UK, TechCrunch and Engadget and the technology brands Adap.tv, AOP and Convertro.
Before joining AOL, Hamish held the position of Director of Agency Sales at Google UK. He joined Google in 2006 as Industry Head of Financial Services, before taking on the roles of Head of Public Sector and Government, followed by Head of Creative Agency Partnerships. Prior to this, Hamish held various direct and digital marketing and business development roles at banks such as Lloyds TSB, Coutts & Co and Morgan Stanley.
He lives in East Dulwich with his wine writer wife Helena, two wonderful daughters, Cora and Ivy, their small, well behaved Cocker Spaniel, Ludwig and a pointless cat.
