Event description

Description

An evening with the celebrated and internationally respected teacher and writer Professor Keith Ward.

There have been a number of books recently that claim that religion is the major cause of violence; that religious beliefs are irrational; that religious teachings are immoral; and that religions do more harm than good. By examining sociological surveys and historical evidence, Keith Ward shows that these claims are false, and that religion is, in general, the heart of an often heartless world.

Professor Keith Ward has taught at the Universities of Glasgow, St Andrews, Kings College London and has held the posts of Dean and Director of Studies in Philosophy and in Theology at Trinity Hall Cambridge, Regius Professor of Divinity, Oxford and is nowEmeritus Student of Christ Church, Oxford.
