Is there a future for tigers, elephants and rhinos in the wild?
Fundraising Event, TOFTigers’ 10th Anniversary
As poaching ravages wildlife across the globe alongside seemingly irreversible pressures on wilderness from man, how can we win the battle to keep iconic species in the wild?
With four speakers including explorer Colonel John Blashford-Snell, founder of Operation Raleigh and Chairman of The Scientific Exploration Company; Colin Bell, founder of Africa’s leading eco-safari company Wilderness Safaris; and Julian Matthews, Founder of the TOFTigers campaign; plus Jeffrey Parrish, live from WWF USA, highlighting their ‘Conservation Travel’ mission, the evening will be both entertaining, inspiring and informative. It should also give you hope and a real way to help on your next nature safari.
Also meet some of the best nature tour operators in the UK before the talks
Doors open from 6.30pm; tour operators on site; pay bar

Colin Bell – Founder Wilderness Safaris and Africa's Finest
As South African founder of multi-award winning Wilderness Safaris, Africa's most successful and innovative safari operators, he pioneered many of the 'win win' partnerships that today form the backbone of wildlife conservation and community integration across southern Africa, along with what he now terms 'The Green Safari model'. He is co-founder of Great Plains Conservation, and recently published a book, with many of his fabulous photographs called - Africa's Finest.
Julian Matthews - Founder TOFTigers
Brought up in the wilds of Zimbabwe, and founder of an award-winning nature tour operator, Discovery Initiatives, now part of Steppes Travel, in 2005 he set up the TOFTigers charity as a collective travel industry campaign to effect better tourism for nature conservation in India. A passionate conservationist, in 2010 he tried to set up the first community based tiger reserve in central India and remains driven through TOFTigers to see well run, sustainable tourism playing a vital role protecting tigers, wildlife and their forests.
Jeffrey Parrish PdD – Managing Director WWF-US
An ecologist by training, Jeff has travelled across the globe from Namibia to the Eastern Himalayas as a conservationist. Today as Managing Director WWF-US, he leads innovative strategies that can accelerate WWF's mission to build a future where people live in harmony with nature. He has pioneered WWF's Conservation Travel initiative to use travel to incentivise the direct protection of wildlife and wildlands.
