About this event
In this event ‘Is your home trying to kill you?’, Ann Vanner, Senior Lecturer in Architecture and Architectural Technology, will talk about how profoundly our lives are shaped and impacted by the places we call home.
She will explore how these spaces affect our thoughts, feelings and behaviours. And how much of our health and wellbeing depend on our indoor spaces, from our kitchens to our bedrooms and bathrooms.
She will take you on an ‘exploration' through a typical home here in the North West and give you a new view of some of the your most familiar spaces.
She will also arm you with some simple and thoughtful interventions to change and adapt these spaces, to spaces where you and your family can not only survive, but also thrive.
Ann brings an unconventional and unwavering passion for the built environment, detailed construction knowledge, and a desire to make a positive change to the everyday environments we live, work and learn in.
Ann Vanner is an architectural technologist, architect, academic, practical researcher and educator. But she is also a mother, wife and proud Prestonian and believes we all have the ability to create the spaces we need and want.
This talk will be available to attend online as well as in person. Please select the relevant ticket type, and joining instructions will be sent to you before the event.
