About this event
🌀 Islamic Zendala: Where Sacred Symmetry Meets Zentangle® Magic
✨ Join me for my Islamic Zendala workshop, where sacred symmetry meets Zentangle magic in divine circular designs.
Looking to slow down and create something that feels truly special? This workshop is all about calm creativity, pattern play, and beautiful balance — all wrapped up in a circular tile.
Inspired by traditional Islamic art, we’ll explore stunning mandala-style structures and fill them with flowing tangles that radiate. You’ll learn how to bring together repetition, contrast and flow to create a tile that feels rich, elegant and deeply satisfying to draw.
Perfect if:
🌀 You love circular designs and want to try something new✏️ You want to build your confidence in structured, layered compositions〰️ You enjoy slowing things down and getting into the flow of line and shape
What we’ll do:
✔️ Create a Zendala base using simple layout techniques.✔️ Explore tangle patterns that complement circular symmetry✔️ Learn layering and embellishing techniques to build depth and contrast✔️ Add finishing touches with colour (if you fancy!)

Frequently asked questions
It's a meditative art form using structured patterns. You can find out more about it on my blog, here - http://bit.ly/ZWot
It would be better if you had done a beginner workshop. However, I will teach you some structured patterns step-by-step so you can learn this method with no prior experience.
The tangles in this class are worked on white card aka tiles, using a black fine liner pen, a graphite pencil and a tortillon (paper blending stump) . However, if you don't have these supplies, you can still join using a black pen and some paper, learn the method and play later.
Yes, this workshop is recorded, so even if you can't make it live you will have access to the replay, which is sent out after the live session.
