Description

Following on from 5th May 2017 Executive and Committee Members Support Evening, and to expand on the information given that evening. We are offering a day & half of extended work shops. Booking both days will be required. Lead by Owen Ward - Volunteering Officer (Trustees). The Scout Association

Executive Committees are the important foundations of Scouting locally, and are a crucial in ensuring Section Leaders have the funds, venues and equipment to enable them to deliver an engaging and balanced programme providing young people in Scouts with skills for life.

The weekend support session will cover a variety of topics including;

  • key responsibilities of Trustees/Executive Committee members,
  • what an effective Executive Committee looks like,
  • finance and risk management for all and the responsibilities of all Trustees/Executive Committee members,
  • the responsibilities of the key officer roles; Chair, Treasurer & Secretary, and
  • tips on successful recruitment and retention of Trustees/Executive Committee members.

The sessions will be delivered in an variety of interactive ways by The Scout Association’s Executive Committee Project Group so that you leave with new skills, knowledge and a renewed motivation to be able to support the delivery of Scouting in the Groups and Districts of the Isle of Wight.

Book both days.If you attended 5th May 2017. These sessions will still be of beneift for you & those with in your committee.
