Islington Food Cooperative Network Learnings and Insights Session
About this event
Beginning in late 2020, Islington Food Partnership launched the Islington Food Cooperative Network, a partnership of 7 local community organisations who set up a number of local food cooperatives across the Borough. In the first six months of the pilot, they served 347 families enough food for 6,700 meals, often replacing existing food bank type approaches to providing food to those experiencing food poverty.
Given the success of the project, which was kindly supported by Food Power for Generation Covid, we developed and published a Learnings and Insights Guide for others interested in setting up similar food cooperatives. You can download the full guide at https://manorgardenscentre.org/resources/Learning_and_Insights_Guide_-_Islington_Food_Cooperative_Network_Oct21.pdf
We are now hosting a one-off online session to share more on our experiences, answer questions, and brainstorm together on how we can best develop food cooperatives in communities across the UK.
We hope you can join us.
