About this event

Tucked away in Islington lie the secluded remnants of the New River, a 400 year-old aqueduct that continues to provide a vital supply of water for Londoners today.

In partnership with Islington Council join us to trace the New River and its history. Over the course of an hour, the walk will explore the ingenuity and politicking of the New River’s construction; its impact on the lives of generations of Londoners; and its recent renewal as a conservation area for local wildlife.

Organised by

The Clerkenwell & Islington Guides' Association (CIGA) trains and supports the Mayor of Islington's official tour guides.
